Dogs hate Halloween

We hope that we are not hurting anyone’s feelings when we say that our canine friends hate costumes, and that if they had the choice, they’d rather parade around in the altogether on All Hallows’ Eve. However, Halloween can be a fun occasion to turn our pooches into little monsters, fiends and other strange creatures. Some dog owners show amazing creativity and we have to admit that some of their costumes have brought more than a smile to our lips.

Have you ever wondered if your car journeys with your dog were entirely safe? What would happen if you were to have an accident or a crash? Are there security systems which can guarantee that our dog would come out of an accident unscathed?

You may already be aware of the following rule stipulated in the Highway Code:

When in a vehicle make sure dogs or other animals are suitably restrained so they cannot distract you while you are driving or injure you, or themselves, if you stop quickly. A seat belt harness, pet carrier, dog cage or dog guard are ways of restraining animals in cars (rule 57).

Grooming your dog at home

Imagine if you couldn’t wash every day. You could still go on living but… would it really be the same? Dogs are like you. Although our canine friends do know how to remain hygienic, we can always give them some help. For instance, we can try and speed up the shedding process according to seasons, especially when the dog days are coming, we can give them a good clean-up after they’ve been playing in the mud, or check that they don’t have thorns stuck in their ears after a long walk in the forest.
